Father's Day

FeedYourBoss does Father's Day. Below, ten great places to send your Boss (or bring your dad).

The "Tells a Bad Joke and Laughs Loudly" Boss

Cho Sun Galbee

kalbi

There’s a plethora of rock solid Korean BBQ spots in LA, but Cho Sun Galbee is the Cadillac in the parking lot. Boss can sear his way through beautifully marbled short rib, steak, and shrimp in this gardenesque spot right off Olympic. Be sure he orders plenty of toasts with Soju; hopefully the sizzle of meat is enough to overcome his increasingly bad puns.

The Lumberjack Boss

Bludso's Bar-&-Que

bludsos

Short of taking a trip to the South, this is some of the best BBQ Boss will find in LA. What differentiates the La Brea location from the original in Compton is the partnership with the co-owners of Golden State, who did us all a favor and added an industrialized picnic flair and killer cocktail menu. Tell Boss that the mac & cheese and rib tips are a must, but know that the benefit of a concise and traditional menu is that you can't really go wrong.

609 N La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036 // (323) 931-2583

The Boss On Tinder

Gourmandise School

Single life hasn’t been all it’s cooked up to be; Boss has an especially difficult time remembering how to feed himself. Get a little creative and suggest he take a class at the Santa Monica cooking school, where he’ll feel like Emeril and get to bond with his kid. Bam!

The Family Man Boss

AOC

Does Boss have a sensitive side? Send him to this female-run spot that boasts a robust selection of small plates - "Spanish" fried chicken, braised leek focaccia, clams with sherry and green garlic... Try to land a table on the patio - the soft light will be flatter Boss as he tears up over his Father's Day card.

8700 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90048 // (310) 859-9859

The Workaholic Boss

Father’s Office

Why not send the Boss whose always working back to the Office to dine? This Culver City hangout offers arguably the best burger in town, as well as an extensive beer menu for really enhancing the heartburn. Boss can at least get a little fresh air as he eats outdoors and steps away from the office, albeit briefly.

The Out-of-Towner Boss

Gjelina

If Boss is visiting from out of town, bet on a sure-thing and send him to this Venice mainstay. He'll be nestled amongst a trendy crowd during brunch, lunch or dinner, and won't feel bloated following the delicious California cuisine. Recommend a post-meal stroll down Abbot Kinney for a truly LA experience.

1429 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291 // (310) 450-1429

The "Just Bought a Porsche" Boss

Eveleigh

Way up on Sunset, there's a large, airy restaurant that your too-cool-for-school Boss will assume is the hippest joint in town. He'll see good looking people, eat good looking food, and have easy access to the women of Hollywood, who may actually dig his sweet new ride.

8752 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90069 // (424) 239-1630

 The Old School Boss

Musso & Frank's

musssos

Musso’s has served as the historic dining hub of Hollywood since 1919, and its décor and menu stay true to its New York steakhouse inspirations. Give Boss a taste of the old world - let the red-jacketed waiters bring him some succulent chops at this classic LA powerhouse. Bonus: if he's 50+, the old school actors he dines next to will still be relevant.

6667 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028 // (323) 467-7788

The High Roller Boss

Providence

providence_final

Ah, the pinnacle of urban dining. Providence is an easy sell: impeccable service, stunning plates, four $$$$. Father's Day could be Boss' chance to splurge on the 16-course chef’s menu, if he wants to blow his mind and his wallet.

5955 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038 // (323) 460-4170

The Nostalgic Boss

MessHall

messhall

This historic Eastside property (originally purchased by Cecil B. DeMille in 1940) now exists as a trendy, reinvented American tavern in Los Feliz. The communal dining and campy flair will make Boss say things like "In the good ol' days..." as he chows down on local, organic ingredients and slurps oysters from the raw bar.
